At Global Literacies Network, our work is two-fold. Leveraging the experiences of our founders, our programming is dedicated to supporting young learners directly through our Global Youth Innovators programs, as well as practicing teachers through our Empowering Global Educators cohort-based fellowship program. Each program is dedicated to preparing all participants as 21st century globally responsive citizens through an exploration of global issues and how these are addressed in K-12 classrooms and in the local community. Using the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and through an equity-oriented examination of the economic, political, social, and cultural layers of global interconnectedness and globalization, participants develop a reflective stance regarding global issues through a participatory-based approach.
